Delhi strategist wins Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz 2024

Rohan Khanna from Barclays Delhi has qualified for the national finals 19 times, and has won the title twice.

The 20th edition of the Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz, the annual business quiz by Tata Group, concluded in Mumbai on Sunday, May 12, with Rohan Khanna from Barclays Delhi emerging as National Champion. Khanna, who is the Director and Head of Strategy and Business Transformation at Barclays Delhi, has made it to Crucible’s finals an impressive 19 times, his first win being 13 years ago. At the Taj President in Mumbai, he walked away with his long-awaited second crown and the grand prize of 2.5 lakh rupees.

Naveen Kumar from Sai Mitra Constructions Hyderabad, who was also the 2020 national champion, emerged as the runner-up in the grand finale. The event saw some close competition, as Khanna and Kumar finished at 120 and 80 points respectively. Catch the livestream below:

Other finalists included 2023’s champion Rajarshi Chanda from Fujitsu, Jayakanthan from TCS, Abhishek Kumar from Wanee AI, and Jaseer from 24 News. Winners of the 12 cluster finals had battled on their business acumen in a tightly contested national round, where they relied on both speed and accuracy to score points.

Quizmaster Giri ‘Pickbrain’ Balasubramaniam, who holds several Limca records for quizzing achievements, hosted the quiz along with Rashmi Furtado, presently the only professional woman quiz host in Asia.

The Tata Crucible Quiz is one of the biggest business quizzes in the country in terms of its scale and prizes. It sees a series of preliminary and regional rounds, where corporate minds from across the country compete for a spot in the grand finale. The annual quiz started in 2004 and runs in two tracks — corporate, and campus.

The 2023-24 edition of the corporate quiz introduced an updated format, merging online and on-stage rounds spanning five stages in all. After online preliminaries, the top 12 from each cluster had advanced to the next round. Then, the competition transitioned to on-stage events, beginning with Semi-Finals and Finals held in 12 clusters across the country. The winners proceeded to the National Semi-Finals and Finals, culminating in the crowning of the National Champion.
