The angry party workers also shouted slogans against PCC chief Sudip Roy Burman.

The police,however,denied having received any information about senior Congress leaders being heckled. “I have no information of any such incident occurring in the Congress Bhavan,” police spokesperson Nepal Chandra Das said from Agartala.

Interestingly,while Gogoi was head of the committee set up by the AICC to screen Congress candidates for the assembly elections held on February 14,he did not turn up for the campaign in view of panchayat elections in Assam that was held simultaneously.
