RJD president and his LJP counterpart Ramvilas Paswan today accused Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of instigating the ruling NDA MLAs to allegedly attack the opposition MLAs demanding the latter’s resignation in the light of the CAG report on financial irregularities.
“It is a blot on the Indian constitution…..In fact,Nitish Kumar instigated the ruling alliance MLAs to attack on the opposition MLAs in the well of the state Assembly,” Prasad and Paswan said while addressing a joint press conference here.
They claimed that the state RJD president Abdul Bari Siddiqui,RJD deputy leader in the house Shakeel Ahmed Khan and party MLA Prema Choudhary suffered injuries in the alleged attack.
“In fact,Nitish has derailed… out of sheer desperation and fear of being sent behind the bar in the light of irregularities highlighted by the CAG report,he engineered the attack,” he said.
“It is a sad day in the history of parliamentary democracy and such attempt to gag the voice of opposition will not be tolerated,” he said adding that the RJD-LJP combine would draw up an agitation programme for the dismissal of the Nitish Kumar government.
“As the CM finds no way to steer clear of the probe into financial irregularities of Rs 11,412 crore,he is taking to the politics of attack to gag the opposition,” Paswan said.
A CAG report had highlighted financial irregularities of Rs 11,412 crore in the execution of development and welfare schemes between 2002-03 and 2007-08.
