But the reality is that under the Hooda government in Haryana, the situation of Dalits is getting worse”, he wrote.

Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday wrote to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, insisting that the Bhupinder Hooda government in Haryana take serious action in the gangrape of four Dalit girls in Bhagana in March.

Families from the village have been protesting outside the district collectorate in Hisar and at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, alleging that the main accused are roaming free and the administration has failed to take action because of the victims’ caste.

He  wrote, “The Congress party calls itself the messiah of Dalits. But the reality is that under the Hooda government in Haryana, the situation of Dalits is getting worse. Now there is one more such incident… There has been ostracisation of Dalits in Bhagana …four girls are gangraped. ”

Kejriwal had visited the protesters earlier in this week and promised he would write to Sonia. “There are three demands. First, that the main conspirators be arrested, including the sarpanch. Second, that there should be a CBI probe. And third, that victimised families should be rehabilitated,” he wrote.
