Former minister Katta Subramanya Naidu,an accused in the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) scam, was granted bail by the state high court on Monday.

Justice B V Pinto granted him bail for a three-month period on a condition that he furnishes a Rs 5 lakh bond.

Naidu, his son Jagadish,a Bangalore city corporator, and ITASKA Software firm MD Srinivas had filed bail applications on August 9,a day after they were remanded to judicial custody by a lower court.

The special Lokayukta court had rejected their bail pleas in connection with the KIADB land scam and irregularities in securing compensation for those whose lands were acquired.

The court had remanded them in judicial custody till August 22,after which police took them into custody.

Naidu had resigned from the B S Yeddyurappa ministry last December after registration of an FIR.
