Ruling National Conference said on Saturday that the people of Jammu and Kashmir reserved the right to decide their future and asked the Centre to “confine” its activities in the state to its rightful powers alone.
“Central government should confine its activities to rightful powers it enjoyed alone and restore the rights of people of the state on internal matters,” NC General Secretary Sheikh Nazir Ahmad told party workers while launching membership drive in Bandipora.
Ahmad said the relations between the Centre and the state “needed to be based on clear intentions which is the way to satisfy the people of the state.”
He said people of all the three regions of the state — Kashmir,Jammu and Ladakh — are the real masters of the territory of Jammu and Kashmir and they should have right to protect its “integrity,identity and individuality”.
The NC leader appealed to the leadership of India and Pakistan to improve their relations and settle all unresolved issues.
He also appealed to the Centre to sanction more financial aid to the state for promotion of Tourism,Agriculture,Floriculture to generate more employment.
