Welcoming Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi denouncing the controversial ordinance to negate the Supreme Court verdict on convicted lawmakers,former Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee on Friday said Gandhi has taken a principled stand.
“He is a young man. He is working for the youth. He has taken a principled stand on the issue. That is good,” Chatterjee said.
CPI(M) Central Committee member Mohammed Selim said,”We are against the ordinance route bypassing the Parliament in any form. It is good if Rahul Gandhi has said so.
“Gandhi claims to represent the new generation. Perhaps he has acceded to their wishes,” Selim added.
