Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh asked Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister to desist from telling “lies” saying that countdown for the fall of the ruling BJP government has already begun.
“I ask Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to stop telling lies and realise that his government would surely fall in 2013,” Singh said at a meeting outside the office of the Pradesh Congress Committee here.
Accusing Shivraj Singh Chouhan government of harassing Congress workers,Singh said that newly-anointed state Congress president Kantilal Bhuria and the Leader of Opposition in assembly Ajay Singh must struggle till 2013 to ensure that the Congress wins the assembly polls hands down.
“I want that Ajay also display the same fighting spirit of his father Arjun Singh in the days to come,” the Congress general secretary said.
Meanwhile,Ajay Singh said days of differences and infighting were over in the Congress adding that any trouble-monger will be shown the door if he is found indulged into petty politics.
Earlier,newly appointed MPCC president and union minister for tribal welfare,Kantilal Bhuria appealed partymen to work hard to ensure that Congress will come back to power in the state.
“Our mission is 2013 Assembly elections and I along with the newly-appointed Leader of Opposition and with the support of all Congressmen will end the BJP’s corrupt rule in the state,” Bhuria said addressing the party workers after taking the reins from the outgoing chief Suresh Pachouri.
Union minister for urban development Kamal Nath and Union minister of state for Industries and Commerce,Jyotiraditya Scindia were also present on the occasion but they left earlier without attending the function at the Congress office due to previous engagements.
