A war of words broke out again between BJP leader Sushma Swaraj and Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh, this time on Twitter.
Asaram brought to Jodhpur after late night arrest,to be medically examined
It all started when Singh on Twitter expressed surprise as to why Swaraj, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha was “quiet” in Asaram’s case despite being the “most vocal voice” of BJP against atrocities against women.
Asaram arrest: Digvijay steps up attack on BJP,targets Modi
“The most vocal voice of BJP against atrocities against women has been Sushma Swaraj. Why is she quiet in Asharam Bapu’s case”,he had tweeted on Saturday.
Reacting to it,Swaraj took to Twitter on Sunday and wrote: “I told the media in Vidisha yesterday also. In our country we have a law that is same for everybody…There is no one big or small. And law will take its own course.”

But Singh persisted with his charge,”This is very illustrative of the double standrads of the BJP that they cry hoarse on issues where someone else is involved but where one of them is involved, they keep quiet.”
He alleged that Asaram has been close to BJP “for a very long time” and targeted Gujarat Chief Minister Modi.
The self-styled spiritual leader was arrested on Saturday by the Jodhpur Police after midnight from his Indore Ashram and was taken to Indore Airport amid heavy presence of his supporters.
Asaram Bapu’s image was sullied now because he was running away from the police,he said. If the spiritual leader was indeed innocent,he had no reason to hide,Digvijay added.

He also denounced the attack by Asaram’s followers on media persons at Jodhpur.
“Strongly condemn attack on Media by Asaram Bapu’s followers in Bhopal and Jodhpur. Why can’t he face the Rajasthan Police if he is innocent?”,Singh said on the
microblogging site Twitter.
