(File)The Tripura Congress on Wednesday filed complaints against three Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and a Shiv Sena leader for issuing threats to the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. The Congress leaders also protested throughout the state and burnt effigies of the four leaders.
The complaint was filed against Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, Uttar Pradesh minister Raghuraj Singh, and BJP leader Tarvinder Singh Marwah at West Agartala Police Station.
” …..you are requested to treat this complaint as FIR against both the persons namely ( 1) Mr. Sanjay Gaikwad (2) Mr. Ravneet Singh Bittu (3) Mr. Tarvinder Singh, Ex-BJP MLA, Delhi and (4) Raghuraj Singh, Uttar Pradesh Minister u/s 351 (3) /356 /353 (2)(3) /353 (I)(c) of the BNS, 2023 and it is also being prayer for proper investigation so that both of them are punished immediately for the said offences,” Asish Saha wrote in the complaint.
Saha pointed out that Sanjay Gaikwad said he would pay Rs. 11 lakh to whoever cuts the tongue of Rahul Gandhi. Saha said the statement was made to harm and defame Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party.
He also said Ravneet Singh made a statement calling Gandhi an extremist and not an Indian and No 1 enemy of India.
Earlier in the day, Congress Treasurer Ajay Maken lodged a complaint in Delhi following “open threats” “to eliminate/cause bodily injury” issued by Gaikwad, Bittu, Singh, and Marwah against Rahul Gandhi.
