Surjagad arson: Senior police official terms it ‘intelligence failure’

Asked if Surjagad arson wasn’t a challenging setback to the police and an intelligence failure, Additional Director General of Police (Operations) Bipin Bihari said, “I would say there was certainly lack of intelligence input but to say that the police were afraid is far fetched. A big chunk of our force at Hedri near the mine was away for a rescue operation three km away. If they were afraid, how would they go that far?”
