
JALANDHAR, May 17: Eighty-two-year-old Dalip Singh, a non resident Indian, in a fax to Punjab DGP P. C. Dogra on Friday, has complained against four youth who robbed him when he boarded the Delhi-bound Shatabadi train from Jalandhar earlier this month. He has sought an inquiry into the matter.
Dalip Singh, living in Singapore and a holder of Singapore senior citizen card, has said that the loss of 250, 385 Singapore and Rs 10,000 that he suffered was nothing compared to the emotional shock he suffered because of the incident.
Dalip Singh has alleged that four youth grabbed him as soon as the Delhi-bound Shatabadi train left the Jalandhar Railway Station. He said the attackers robbed him of the money, his identity card, bus pass and medical documents. He barely managed to keep his wallet containing his air ticket from Delhi to Singapore.
The DIG, Jalandhar rage, on receipt of the complaint has marked it to the SSP, Jalandhar.
Dalip Singh8217;s cousin, Deep Singh Cheema told ENS that he learnt about the incident when Dalip Singh rang him up after reaching Singapore. He said Dalip Singh was shocked and had conveyed his disappointment that such incidents occur despite the security at the railway stations.
