JAI PANDA (BJD) had two starred questions and five unstarred questions. The first question was about “any Indo-Pak joint group to explore the possibilities of coordinated export strategies”. The second was about the Naxalite problem in the two Orissa districts of Malkangiri and Rayagada. He was seen chatting animatedly with Murli Manohar Joshi after the BJP leader had spoken on the price rise issue.
KANIMOZHI (DMK) had two starred questions—one on the Government disallowing news and current affairs programmes on FM radio, and if a midway solution could be worked out, and second on whether farmers working in their fields could be included under the NREGS scheme. However, the DMK MP was not in the House as she’s part of President Pratibha Patil’s delegation to Latin America.
SUPRIYA SULE (NCP) had two unstarred questions, but she was away in Mumbai.

SACHIN PILOT (CONG), making a forceful intervention during the debate on price rise, suggested an overhaul of the public distribution system, making the delivery more effective. Taking a dig at the BJP, he said the party should tell those sections, which are part of its support base, to “open godowns” at least in the current situation so that the shortage of essential commodities ends. He sat through the day listening to the debate.
SANDEEP DIKSHIT (CONG) participated in a discussion on price-rise and left in the afternoon JITIN PRASADA (CONG) spent most of his time on his old seat chatting with Milind Deora, Sandeep Dikshit and Sachin Pilot.
