Yashpal Singh struck a strokeful 240 26215;4, 2215;6, 478m, his second double-hundred in only his second first-class season after his 202 against Punjab at Amritsar last year, to help Services declare their first innings at 491 for eight on the second day of their Plate Group A match against Tripura at Air Force Palam ground here today.

The visitors were 65-1 in reply at the end of the day.

Yashpal Singh, a product of Sonnet Club Delhi shared a 170-run partnership for the third wicket with Jasvir Singh 120:16215;4,356m and another fruitful stand of 127 for the seventh wicket with Arun Sharma 44 not out.

The Services added 248 runs today of which Yashpal8217;s share was 163 runs.

Haryana beat MP

Rohtak: Debutant medium pacer Jogender Singh claimed six wickets for 21 runs as Haryana beat Madhya Pradesh by 103 runs.

Chasing 172 for victory, MP were skittled out for 68. Amit Sharma and Aparajit Singh were the other successful bowlers claiming two wickets each.
