Women held for `duping’ youth of Rs 62,000

According to a complaint lodged by Pradharte at Jaripatka Police recently, Madekar secured Rs 62,000 from him from 1997 to 1998 but never succeeded in getting a job.

Pradharte reportedly attempted to get his money back, but was turned down by Madekar, he alleged in his complaint.

According to him, he had visited Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai in 1997 and was returning home, when he came in contact with Madekar onboard the train.

The Jaripatka police have booked Madekar on charges of duping. Further investigations are in progress.

ROBBED: A housewife who was returning home after withdrawing money from a bank, was relieved of Rs 10,800 cash by a mobike-borne youth, who snatched her moneypurse near PWD godown at Ravi Nagar on Saturday afternoon.

Nirmala Narayan Shete (59), withdrew money from a bank located at Ravi Nagar square and was returning home in a cyclerickshaw, when the incident took place. According to Shete, a youth arrived from behind on a mobike near PWD godown at Ravi Nagar and snatched her moneypurse.

Before Shete could raise alarm, the theief sped away on the mobike along with the money purse that contained Rs 10,800 in the form of currency notes. She immediately rushed to the Ambajhari police station and lodged a complaint.
