Over 90 women farmers from all over the state attended a day’s training programme at BioTech Park, whose employees taught them vermicomposting, tissue culture, distillation and other organic methods to improve productivity.Asha Devi (50) from Raebareli said, “We learnt about the advantages of biofertilisers, common bio-pesticides and methods to prepare these.” She grows foodgrains and vegetables on her seven bigha farmland.“We discard leftovers of kitchen and cow dung but today we learnt that we can use it to prepare gobar gas and improve fertility of the soil ,” said Kamlesh, the head of Mahila Sabji Utpadan Samiti, Raebareli. “The object of the workshop is to impart skills and knowledge to women,” said Professor P K Seth, chief executive officer of Biotech Park.
