Magnetising promos and ever-so-real stunts. Beatrice Gibson scenes Rajan and Taru’s last four years of cinematic exploits

In these changing times, the promo terrain is one gaining increasing importance. "Viewers these days are smarter, and tickets more expensive. The promo brings features of the film into the viewer’s home and guarantees him value for money. With the promo, he can be assured it’s the kind of movie he wants to spend on." So integral is their contribution to the marketing of the film that these days producers even allocate a specific budget to promos. And so, as Pushpa puts it: "Rajtaru brings the horse to the water. If the water is sweet, the horse will drink." Sweetening the water, as we speak, are the Rajtaru animators and editors, who, with a minimum of four years training behind them, are doing their best.

With technology so bold and a crew so dedicated, it hardly comes as a surprise that Rajtaru are taking the industry by storm. Not only does their art help to market the hits, but also cuts costs and saves actors from engaging in potentially life-threatening stunts. Look out for the effects in the upcoming movies Refugee and Hum to Mohabbat Karega to get a slice of the action, real or imagined.
