PUNE, July 10: A 66-year-old widow from Osmanabad, who had come to Pune to meet her married daughter, was abducted and robbed by an unidentified autorickshaw driver and his two knife-wielding accomplices around 11.30 pm on Wednesday. The incident came to light when the widow, Taramati Ganapati Pandhavle, who was left stranded at a secluded spot near Toll Naka on the Katraj-Dehu Road bypass road by the robbers, walked down to the police chowkey at Warje and lodged a complaint.

The complaint stated that Taramati, who alighted from a State Transport bus at Swargate had hired the autorickshaw to reach her daughter’s house at Ramwadi on Pune-Ahmednagar Road. She let two others in the same auto when they said they were heading in the same direction. Police said the three robbers threatened to murder Taramati and snatched her jewellery and Rs 3,000 in cash after reaching the secluded spot on the bypass road.
