Director General of Police A S Samra today refused to be drawn into any controversy over the note written by DCP Sanjay Pandey saying he was pressurised by Deputy Chief Minister Gopinath Munde against arresting his party MLA Sitaram Ghandat in the Abhyudaya Bank case.

While Police Commissioner Subhash Malhotra has ordered a scrutiny of all cases handled by Pandey, Joint Commissioner crime R S Sharma has openly accused the DCP of tampering police records. Asked if he approved of such a public show of differences between top police officers, Samra said: 8220;I have not gone through any of these news reports. Moreover, the issue being an internal matter of the Mumbai police, I have not applied my mind to it. I will have to check out the matter, only then I will be able to comment.8221;
