JAIPUR, AUG 26: Union Home Minister L.K. Advani today said the BJP would establish a strong coalition culture in the country’s politics as one-party governments were no longer relevant.
After his arrival here, Advani, on his Lok Sabha campaign tour in the state, told newspersons that construction of the Ram temple at Ayodhya, scrapping of Article 370 and implementation of a comman civil code were issues of the BJP and thus, not in the agenda of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The BJP would not raise these issues even if it again came to power at the Centre as “for a coalition government, idealism is more important than ideology”, he said.
Advani pointed out that since 1984, no party had been able to muster majority in Parliament. Successive governments at the Centre had failed to complete their full tenure as they did not have even the working majority. “The NDA will endeavour to provide a stable government,” he said.
The Union Home minister said that he now represented only the BJP and theNDA. He said the BJP did not have any hidden agenda and had not committed breach of faith with voters.
