Call her a homebird if you will, but there’s nothing that Lata Vasbani likes better than spending her weekends at home. “I love this city so much that there’s just no chance that I’d get out. I enjoy staying at home with my family and have a few friends over, which I feel is the best way to spend a wonderful weekend,” she says.

As the marketing director of India Book House, Vasvani, also the founder of the Crossword bookstore finds herself travelling a lot, which is perhaps why she prefers staying home. “I’ve tried the usual Khandala, Lonavala and Pune trips, but the entire effect of a wonderful weekend out of the city loses its charm once you hit Chembur. You get stuck for hours at end, and by the time you’re home, you’re exhausted all over again. There’s no point to the whole exercise. And I find that places that are close to Mumbai are even worse because of this,” she adds.

Some of her best weekends have been spent just lazing around doing nothing. “That’s the biggest luxury of all – doingabsolutely nothing. One doesn’t get too much of a chance to do that,” she laughs.
