Will give Muslims development instead of skull caps: BJP

BJP vice-president C P Thakur on Sunday said,The BJP neither intends to mislead Muslims by providing skull caps for them in the party-ruled states nor wants to advertise their photographs with the minority people in the newspapers8230; all the BJP wants is carry out development and welfare works for the minorities and win their hearts in the process. He was speaking at a meeting of the partys minority front here.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had taken a dig at his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi earlier this year that one will have to wear skullcap or apply 8216;tika8217; on forehead to become a national leader.

Earlier this year,Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had refused to wear a skull cap offered by a Muslim cleric. Sayyed Imam Shahi Sayeid had offered Modi a shawl and a cap during Modi8217;s Sadbhavna fast.
