Wheat and rice prices dip on limited demand

Wheat prices fell by Rs 25 per quintal on the wholesale grains market.

Wheat prices fell by Rs 25 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today on sluggish demand against adequate stocks position.

Wheat deshi fell by Rs 25 to Rs 1,850-2,100 and wheat dara (for mills) shed Rs 10 at Rs 1,350-1,355 per quintal.

Marketmen said,increased supplies and expectations of higher output this season due to favourable weather conditions in growing areas mainly led to fall in wholesale wheat prices.

Rice basmati also weakened on limited demand against sufficient stocks position.

In the rice section,rice basmati common variety lost Rs 100 at Rs 5,500-5,600,while non-basmati permal raw shed Rs 25 at Rs 1,625-1,675 per quintal.
