The fact that senior Joint Secretary Vineet Chawdhry,Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,has been given additional charge as Deputy Director,Administration,in AIIMS even as he is about to be empanelled as Additional Secretary,has raised quite a few eyebrows. That the 1982-batch Himachal Pradesh cadre IAS officer is already serving a three-month extension and is headed to his home cadre has not gone down well with the AIIMS faculty,which says that such ad-hoc arrangements will only create confusion and bring instability. The buzz is that the frequent disagreements between Health Secretary K Sujatha Rao and Chawdhry led to this move.
