Waste water and be ready to face the music! In a bid to combat water crisis in the metropolis,the city administration has made wastage of water a punishable offence. "A fine would be levied on those who regularly waste water in their houses.any type of oozing and leakage of water from tanks in residential and commercial complexes will draw fine,the amount of which will be decided according to the quantum of water wasted," city commissioner of Municipal Corporation Basant Lal said. Pamphlets have already been issued and distributed among the denizens with directions to control water wastage,he said. The fine will be recovered at the spot and failure to pay the amount will lead to temporary disconnection of water supply,Lal. Extra charges will be imposed on those who use supply water for washing cars and other vehicles in houses and garages,he said.
