The strike by truckers and oil sector employees may have crippled normal life,but it gave an unusual reason for a top western diplomat to cheer. Filled with relentless queries from his Capital on reports of military action by India,this top diplomat happily concluded that the strike was an indicator that it is business as usual in India. His argument had the Indian Government been seriously mulling over a military offensive against Pakistan,it would not have allowed such internal disturbances to take place. If one is to go by the diplomats assumption,western countries which have been burning much midnight oil to defuse the tension between the nuclear neighbours can now heave a sigh of relief.
