VLCC aims at Rs 1,400 cr turnover

Wellness and beauty company VLCC is bullish on expansion in all its verticals.

Wellness and beauty company VLCC is bullish on expansion in all its verticals and is aiming to become up to Rs 1,400 crore firm in the next two years.

“We are planning to expand our global and domestic foot prints and also launch more new products. Looking at the present top-line growth,we expect to become Rs 1,000-1,400 crore wellness company in the next two years,” VLCC,Healthcare,Managing Director Sandeep Ahuja said.

VLCC,which has 160 slimming and beauty centres in 102 cities across the country,is planning to open 20 new company-owned outlets this fiscal,he said.

“We are also planning for significant franchise expansion and target to triple them in 12-18 months. At present we have about 30 franchise outlets,” he said,adding that this is part of the company’s Rs 200 crore investment for the next three years rolled out last year.

VLCC is also planning to increase its overseas footprint with plans to foray into new countries like Singapore,Malaysia,Egypt and South Africa.

“We are present in seven countries with about 20 outlets.

We plan to double our presence in next two years with deeper penetration in the existing countries and foraying into new nations like Kuwait,Singapore,Malaysia in next 12 months and post September in Egypt if situation becomes conducive,” he said.

At present,the company is studying the South African market and it may take another year to finalise any plans,he added.

The wellness company,which has 50 training institutes in the country,is planning to double it in two years,Ahuja said.

“Vocational education has become critical in the country especially in the wellness segment,which is growing at about 25-35 per cent annually. To cater to this sector we are planning to double the number of institutes in the next two years,” he said.

“The company is also planning to launch several skin care products in the next quarter,” Ahuja said adding that these will basically be mid-segment category.

“We are also planning to double the overseas presence of our products during this fiscal,” he said.

VLCC has two manufacturing units,one in Haridwar and another in Dehradun in Uttrakhand.
