‘US to hit debt ceiling in October’

The US would hit its debt ceiling limit of $16.7 trillion by October,treasury secretary Jack Lew said here urging the Congress to take appropriate measures to raise the ceiling.

Congress should act as soon as possible to meet its responsibility to the nation and to remove the threat of default, Lew wrote in a letter to the Congress. Under any circumstance Congress must act before the middle of October, he said.
