Members of the LGBT community are looking expectantly at another Supreme Court case to be decided soon. A bench of justices K S Radhakrishnan and A K Sikri is hearing the final arguments in a PIL moved by the National Legal Services Authority seeking third-gender status and various rights for transgenders. Anand Grover,who led the arguments for NGO Naz Foundation in the case on Section 377,also spearheads the fight for transgenders in the NALSA matter. Grover and other activists are hoping for a favourable verdict in the NALSA case so that this can form the basis of their future legal recourse.
