Three workers died while four were taken seriously ill after eating khichdi containing ammonium nitrate,which was mistakenly added in place of salt,at a factory in Chinhat police station area of Uttar Pradesh,on Thursday night. A police officers said the workers at Vikas Power Equipments Pvt Ltd factory,who were on night duty,decided to cook khichdi for dinner at the factory. They mistook a box of ammonium nitrate for salt and used it in cooking.
Shatabdi death: NHRC notice to Railway Board
The National Human Rights Commission has taken suo motu cognizance of reports that a woman died after being pushed out of a moving train by RPF personnel near Muzaffarnagar on February 27. It has issued a notice to Chairman Railway Board,New Delhi,calling for a report within four weeks. The woman and her husband had inadvertently boarded the Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express,though they had tickets for second class journey.
