TSR: Witness puts blame on Kalmadi

A former Commonwealth Games Organising Committee official on Tuesday told a Delhi court that he was pressured by Suresh Kalmadi and another accused to reject the bid of Spains MSL and select Swiss Timing for giving the contract for Timing,Scoring and Result (TSR) system.

Deposing as prosecution witness,Virender Kumar Saksena,who was then OCs Additional Director General (Revenue),told Special CBI Judge Ravinder Kaur that sacked OC chairman Kalmadi,facing trial on corruption charges,told him and other officials in a meeting that Swiss Timing should be selected. He said that later OCs DG V K Verma,co-accused in the case,called him for a meeting and tried to convince him why only Swiss Timing qualifies for the contract of the TSR system.
