Rebel Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh, who was grilled by the Bidhan Nagar Police commissionerate for the second day today for his alleged involvement in the Saradha scam, threatened to spill the beans if arrested.
Ghosh also said he had written a letter to the Trinamool leadership, requesting them to set up an inquiry commission at the party level so that he could reveal all that he knows about the activities of the Saradha Group.
If I am arrested,I will request the police to give me a chance so that I can call a press conference and say all, Ghosh, who was last Friday issued a show-cause notice by the TMC for anti-party comments along with fellow party MPs Satabdi Ray and Tapas Pal,said before interrogation.
Kunal Ghosh,a Madhyamik pass, became the CEO of Channel 10 media of Saradha Group and was reportedly getting a salary of Rs 16 lakh a month. He was made a member of Rajya Sabha by Mamata Banerjee last year.
The MP,however, said he wanted to reveal everything before a commission set up by the party.
I have full faith in the inquiry by CID. But I can not say everything in front of the police. There are a few things related to the party which I cannot disclose before them. I want to reveal that before a party commission and I have written about that to the party, Ghosh today said.
He also declared that he had remained a loyal soldier of the party. I am not against the party, nor have I ever betrayed it. Those who are accusing me of betrayal should also think of my contribution, Ghosh said.
Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress leadership today said they have sent show-cause notices to Ghosh,Shatabdi Roy and Tapas Paul, for their alleged anti-party activities.
The disciplinary committee of the party today discussed the behaviour and the statements of the three MPs and sent show-cause notices to them, Partha Chatterjee, party general secretary and minister for commerce and industries ,today said at the party headquarters.
He also denied that Ghosh had written any letter to the party leadership with a request to present himself before a party commission.
It was on Friday last that the three MPs,in front of another party MP and senior leader Somen Mitra and his wife and Bowbazar MLA Shikha Mitra, criticised the party on various counts.
Meanwhile, the party has written to state assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee for allotting a separate seat to Shikha Mitra, who used to sit on the Treasury benches, being an MLA of the ruling party.
The CPM,meanwhile, did not spare an opportunity to take a dig at the Trinamool Congress.
The party does not have discipline nor does it have any ideal or programme. They are like a herd of animals attacking each other. It is quite expected of them to behave like this, Biman Bose,CPM party state secretary, said.
