The fatter gamer
Towards the end of this month,Nintendo will start shipping its new swollen-looking DS,called the DSi XL to stores in the US. While still pocket-sized,youll need a larger pocket,and a deeper one,too the new gaming system will cost 190,just 10 less than a Wii. The 6.4-inch wide,3.6-inch tall game system will function exactly like the current DSi,and run all the same software. The main difference is the pen-sized stylus and the two screens. Both are backlit,4.2-inch color LCDs with 256 x 192 pixel resolution. The lithium-ion battery life can vary greatly; from 4 to 17 hours depending on screen settings.
THE new Pentax Optio W90 looks like it belongs on a mountainside and feels more solidly built than its predecessor,the Optio W80. It can snap photos in water down to 20 feet,withstand falls up to four feet and operate in temperatures as cold as -10 degrees Celsius. The 330 W90 has a resolution of 12.1 megapixels and a 28-to-140mm equivalent lens with 5X optical zoom. Then there is the digital microscope mode that enables you to capture images of objects that are less than one inch away.

Tiger Woods got caught,but this tiger wont. The new,aptly named,Tiger Text app for iPhone deletes messages,even from the server,within 30 seconds you can programme the time for longer durations to clear you tracks. Even messages received from the programme will self-destruct as programmed,leaving just tiger paws. The app is free for the first 100 messages during a 15 days trial period,after that it is 1.49 per 250 messages sent each month. An application for Blackberry and Android platforms will soon be available. By the way,the company claims it named the app after real tigers as they are hard to track.
