Syrian security forces fired at thousands of protesters who poured into the streets throughout the country Friday,killing at least 20 people one day after the US and its European allies demanded President Bashar Assad step down,activists said. Protests took place in Damascus,the city of Homs,Latakia and Deir el-Zour,besides the province of Daraa and other areas.
