Sugar prices dropped by Rs 35 per quintal in the national capital today.

Sugar prices dropped by Rs 35 per quintal in the national capital today,following increased supply from mills amid reduced offtake by stockist and bulk consumers.

Marketmen said selling pressure from mills against slackness in demand from stockist and bulk consumers such as softdrink and icecream makers,mainly pull down the prices.

Sugar ready medium and second grade prices quoted lower by Rs 35 to Rs 3,075-3,225 and Rs 3,050-3,200 per quintal.

Mill delivery medium and second grade price also fell by Rs 35 to Rs 2,895-3,065 and Rs 2,875-3,050 per quintal.

The following are today’s quotations per quintal:

Sugar ready: M-30 3,075-3,225,S-30 3,050-3,200.

Mill delivery: M-30 2,895-3,065; S-30 2,875-3,050.

Sugar mill gate prices (excluding duty): Kinnoni 3,060,Asmoli 3,050,Mawana 3,010,Titabi 3,000,Thanabhavan 2,930,Budhana 2,920,Dorala 3,010,Khatauli 2970,Morna 2850 and Ramala 2840.
