Seems like the Dabangg fever is still very much on. At least for Sonu Sood who played the irrepressible villain Chhedi Singh. The actor is the only one from the original, who is part of the Tamil and Telugu remakes of the Hindi superhit. Sood who is a popular name down South will start shooting for Vosti (Tamil) in July and Gabbar Singh (Telugu) after that. I guess I am the lucky one,as no other actor has been repeated in either of the remakes. My character is the same as the villainous Singh, but I am going to make one different from the other taking into consideration the audience likes and dislikes, said Sood who is presently shooting for a Telugu film down South.
As of now he is eagerly awaiting the release of Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap in which he plays a committed cop,and will be seen crossing swords with the person who he has always been in awe,Amitabh Bachchan. I always wondered how I would react when I would shoot with him but once we rehearsed together I was at ease. And when you shoot with a great actor like him, you put in your best. His style statement is something to watch out in the film, he says.
But he still has to get over Hema Malinis charisma. The first thing I told her when she came on the sets was that like millions of other Indians she was also my dream girl when I was young, laughed Sood,he added that considering the impressive cast,it is commendable that director Puri Jagannadh shot and released the film in a record three months. Bbuddah…,which went on the floors on March 7 is releasing on July 1.
