The minister was interacting with mediapersons after launching his personal website.

Hinting at black money being used for holding rallies being addressed by BJPs prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief MinisterNarendra Modi,Union Law Minister Kapil Sibal on Friday sought a thorough probe into it.

The minister was interacting with mediapersons after launching his personal website.

If you really want to bring back black money and that should be the case as Advaniji always says then there should be a debate on the Rs 10 to 15 crore spent on stadiums. It should be investigated as to what kind of money is used to fund (the rallies), he said.

Accusing Modi he repeatedly referred to him as Nirantar Virodhi (perennial opponent) of engaging in politics of lies and spreading untruths about the UPA government,Sibal challenged Modi to a debate.

I am sorry that the issues which should be discussed are not being discussed…. They (BJP) do not have issues. Hence they only talk about individuals…. One person can neither make nor is going to make the future of the country. The countrys future is decided by policies and not allegations. Unfortunately, for some days, such an atmosphere has been made that the talk is more about individuals than about issues, Sibal said.

The minister also released papers to show that the UPA government had performed better than the BJP-led NDA government in terms of GDP growth, increasing per capita income and bringing FDI into the country.

If this means destroying India, then the BJP should remain permanently in Opposition so that the country may progress, he said.

Sibal also asked why Modi did not address press conferences, asserting the BJP leader wanted a controlled audience so that he could get away with his untruths.

He only delivers a speech and goes away…he wants a controlled environment. Have you seen him smile. I have never seen him smile. He is always acrimonious, the minister said.
