Shah Rukh Khan seems to have earned the wrath of Shiv Sena yet again. In its mouthpiece Saamna,the Shiv Sena has criticised SRK for hosting a dinner party in London for Pakistani TV channel Prime TV and that too on Friday,November 26,which marked the second anniversary of the horrific Mumbai 26/11 terror attacks.
It may be recalled that SRKs comments on the inclusion of Pakistani cricketers in the IPL earlier this year had angered the Shiv Sainiks,who had protested against the release of the actors film My Name Is Khan.
Now with this act of his,SRK has once again rubbed Shiv Sena the wrong way.
Kabir Bedi to be knighted by Italian government
Kabir Bedi is all set to be knighted by the Italian goverment,which is honouring him with Cavaliere (Knight) of the Order Al Merito della Repubblica Italiana. This is the highest-ranking civilian honour of the Italian Republic. Bedis association with Italy goes back a long way,beginning in 1976 with the enormous success of his TV Series Sandokan,the saga of a freedom fighting Asian pirate during British colonial times,who falls in love with an English girl. Since then he has also starred in many other Italian TV series and films. The Italian Ambassador will bestow the honour on Kabir at a special ceremony,organised by the Italian Consul General in Mumbai,Giampaolo Cutillo,in early December.
French film festival in Mumbai
Starting December 5 to 7,a festival of French films begins in Mumbai. Films like Carlos,Heartbreaker,Of Gods & Men,Potiche,Sarahs Key,Oceans and Love Crime will be screened at Fun Cinema (Andheri) and Metro Cinema (Marine Lines).
Carlos,directed by Olivier Assayas,is about the notorious international revolutionary and terrorist Carlos the Jackal. It stars Edgar Ramirez,Alexander Scheer,Nora Von Walstatten and others. Potiche is an adaptation of a French boulevard-theatre play and talks about labour trouble at the provincial umberalla factory. Produced Eric Altmayer and directed by Francois Ozon,it stars Gerard Depardieu,Catherine Deneuve and others.
The other films are Heartbreaker,Of Gods & Men,Sarahs Key,Oceans and Love Crime
Passes for the festival are free but strictly on first come first served basis that may be collected at the entrance of the cinema hall one hour prior to the screening time of the films.
