A dense cloud of ash from an Icelandic volcano was being blown toward Scotland Monday, causing Glasgow-based regional airline Loganair to cancel 36 flights. Officials said they dont expect problems caused by the Grimsvotn volcano that began erupting Saturday to be as great as that caused by another Icelandic volcano last year. Britains Civil Aviation Authority said it appears that ash could reach Scottish airspace from Tuesday onward and affect other parts of the UK and Ireland later in the week.
