Joining other politicians and filmstars seeking pardon for actor Sanjay Dutt convicted in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case by the Supreme Court,West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Monday said he had already suffered a lot for the blunder.

I have received many requests from civil society and film personalities to see that Sanjay does not suffer more, the Chief Minister said in a Facebook post. Though it is not in my hand,I feel he has already suffered a lot for the blunder he committed earlier.Recalling her association with Sanjays father Sunil Dutt,she said they fought together against the potential of TADA being misused. If he were alive,he would have made all efforts to see that Sanjay does not suffer any more8230;My heart also echoes his sentiments, Mamata said.

Pardon will send wrong message

Mumbai: Speaking in the Legislative Council,Shiv Sena MLC Neelam Gorhe said,There should not be a rethink on the Supreme Courts judgment. It will send a wrong message to society if Sanjay Dutt is pardoned.
