Salt ‘n’ Pepper is a surprise hit

The Ashiq Abu-directed Salt ‘n’ Pepper,with Lal,Shwetha Menon,Asif Ali,Mythili and Baburaj in key roles,has turned out to be a surprise hit.

Salt ‘n’ Pepper,which was released in 21 centres,got appreciated by all sections of the viewers and got good reviews too,narrates a simple story in a very simple manner. The film became a hit in the second week itself and from 21 centres,it went to 36 then. Now,with the third week being over,the film runs in 56 centres. Made at a budget of about 2 crore,the film grossed about Rs. 2.3 crore in the second week and at present,the gross collection has crossed Rs. 4 crore.

Says Ashiq Abu about the success of the film,“Salt ‘n’ Pepper is a hit because it is a real feel-good film with a simple narration; it’s a clean entertainer and there are no double-meaning dialogues. It can be seen and enjoyed by all.”

Produced under the banner of Lucsam Cinema,the film has screenplay by debutants Syam Pushkaran and Dileesh Nair.
