Anticipating a hung verdict,the Rashtrapati Bhavan for the first time had made arrangements to ensure that journalists covering the beat could sit in the shade and be served refreshments and tea while the President considered which party or combine to invite for government formation. In fact,some officers in the Presidents Secretariat went a step ahead and informed their friends in the media about the arrangements. But a clear verdict for a Congress-led UPA Government put paid to all the arrangements.
