Union minister of state for Railways Adhir Chowdhury,against whom a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued Friday for alleged conspiracy in a murder case,was on Saturday chargesheeted by the police in a Murshidabad court.
The chargesheet filed before a court in Berhampore alleged that Chowdhury conspired in TMC worker Kamal Sheikhs murder of in Golabazar in 2011.
When contacted,Chowdhury accused the ruling TMC of pursuing vindictive politics. I have been falsely implicated in this case. I will soon give a full report to the PM and Congress President, he said. The Mamata Banerjee government has been trying to use the police to stifle the voice of the Opposition. They are following the same tactics pursued by the Left Front government to destroy democracy in the state, he added.
