Patient dies after ward boy gives injection

A 24-year-old man admitted to the district hospital died Sunday after being administered an injection allegedly by a youth

A 24-year-old man admitted to the district hospital died Sunday after being administered an injection allegedly by a youth,who was said to be a ward boy of the hospital,in Ambedkar Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.

The police have registered a case on the basis of a complaint filed by victim Om Prakashs wife Geeta Devi.

Additional Superintendent of Police,Ambedkar Nagar,Rajiv Malhotra said the complainant alleged that the ward boy of the hospital named Ram Prakash

administered the injection to her husband.

We are verifying the identity of the accused and also taking help of hospital authorities to ascertain the identity of the accused. Ward boys are not authorised to administer injection, said Malhotra.

According to the police,on July 17,Om Prakash,a resident of Tiwaripur locality in Ambedkar Nagar,was admitted to the hospital.

He was suffering from tuberculosis.
