P P Pandey remanded in CBI custody

Additional DGP P P Pandey was remanded in CBI custody till August 21 by a CBI court Saturday. Pandey,who is among the seven accused in the Ishrat Jahan encounter case,had surrendered before court August 13. Additional CJM H S Khutwad granted five days remand following the CBIs request to interrogate Pandey for 14 days. The CBI had sought his custody on the ground that Pandey is a key accused and the CBI needed to know the source of an intelligence input which he passed to his juniors in 2004.
