MP: Ajay Singh under fire for attack on CM

The Congresss demand to declare details of properties earned by close relatives of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has led to bitter recrimination

The Congresss demand to declare details of properties earned by close relatives of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has led to bitter recrimination with the ruling BJP digging out a six-decade old conviction of Congress leader Shivbahadur Singh, the grandfather of Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh.

In 1950,Shivbahadur Singh, the father of former Madhya Pradesh CM and Union minister Arjun Singh, was convicted in a bribery case, and died while serving the sentence. The BJP delved into history to counter an open letter written by Ajay Singh in which he named Chouhans close relatives and demanded that details of their profession, income tax and properties earned since 2003 be made public.

State BJP chief Narendra Tomar did not spare the late Union minister recalling how he had to borrow money to raise security deposit, but went on to earn huge properties.
