Principal Sessions Judge M L Tahaliyani on Tuesday told Yasmin Ansari, wife of Fahim Ansari who has been acquitted in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks case,to move the Rampur Sessions Court to pass orders to recall her husband to Uttar Pradesh,so that he could be tried there in the Rampur CRPF camp attack case.

Yasmin had on Friday moved an application stating her husband was not being moved out of Arthur Road Jail even though he had been acquitted by the special court in the 26/11 attacks case. She was told the judgment in the case had been pronounced and Ansari and Sabahuddin Ahmed acquitted and also that the special court had no powers to send them to UP from where the Mumbai police had brought them on transit remand.

“The judge told us it is now the responsibility of the Rampur Sessions Court, from whose custody the accused were produced here,to call the accused back,” said Yasmin.

Judge Tahaliyani, while acquitting Ansari and Ahmed in the 26/11 case, had said both should be immediately taken to UP.

In 2008,the UP Special Task Force had arrested Ansari in the 2007 CRPF camp attack case. Ahmed was also among the nine arrested. Later, both Ansari and Ahmed were made co-accused in the 26/11 case and brought to Mumbai. Charges against both have been framed in the Rampur attack case.
