Lalthanhawla has won the seat six times and lost only once,in 1998.

In central Mizoram.

LalThanhawla,4-time chief minister,vs C Lalramzauva,an advocate and nominee of an opposition alliance. Lalthanhawla has won the seat six times and lost only once,in 1998. In the last two polls,he narrowly beat Lalramzauva,his current rival,who was then contesting on a Zoram Nationalist Party ticket. Lalthanhawla will also contest from neighbouring Hrangturzo.

East Tuipui

On Myanmar border.

Zoramthanga (Mizo National Front),former underground leader and two-time former CM,vs retired bureaucrat T Sangkunga(Congress). Sangkunga was till recently president of the powerful central committee of Young Mizo Association,the apex Mizo body. Zoramthanga won this seat in 1998 but vacated it for an aide as he also won from Champhai,his home turf.

On Assam border.

ZNP chief Lalduhawma vs transport minister P C Zoram Sangliana (Congress) vs former speaker Lalchamliana. Lalduhawma also contesting from Aizawl West-I against former minister K Sangthuama (MNF) and C Tlangthanmawii,president of the state Mahila Congress and her party’s only woman candidate.

Serlui

Also in Kolasib district.

Lalhming Liana,the states lone Rajya Sabha member and a Mizo National Front member,will contest against Congressman K Lalrinthanga (the sitting MLA) and former speaker R Lalawia of the ZNP.
