Micra pushes Nissan India Sept sales to 1,256 units

Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd (NMIPL) said it has registered total sales of 1,256 units in September 2010,with its newly-launched compact car Micra clocking 1,183 units.

The company had started nationwide sales of the Micra on July 15 and has sold 928 units in the starting month.

Since its launch,NMIPL has sold a total of 3,293 units of Micra,the statement said.

“Out of the remaining,Nissan Teana,the luxury sedan (CBU) clocked 18 units in September 2010 and Nissan X-trail the lifestyle SUV (CBU) — registered sales of 55 units,” the statement said.

The Micra,which was opened for bookings prior to its launch in July,has till date received about 3,600 bookings,the statement said.

“The delivery period for the Nissan Micra is around two months and the company expects to control it in the coming weeks. The company is also geared up to start full shipment of exports to Europe and other countries in October 2010,” NMIPL said without giving details.
