Man called for NRHM questioning found hurt

Tandon had tried to end his life as he was fed up with constant questioning by the CBI,his cousin.

Contractor Namit Tandon,35,who had left to have his statement recorded in connection with the UP NRHM scam,was found lying unconscious on railway tracks with serious injuries on his head in Lucknow on Saturday.

Tandon is in hospital and is said to be critical. The doctors said gashes on his head did not appear to have been caused by a train hit.

Sumit alleged Tandon had told them the CBI officials were harassing him. Tandon runs Rama Enterprises with one Agha Rizwan. Rizwan said their firm had got a contract from the state to build 25 ANM centres under NRHM in Lucknow in 2010. Rizwan is also being interrogated by the CBI and had gone to the CBI office on Friday too.

No intent to insult Rahul: Anna

Anna Hazare on Saturday clarified that he didnt intend to insult Rahul Gandhi by his comment on Friday that suggested Rahuls hand in UPA governments flip-flop over Lokpal issue.

He said if not given permission to hold protest at Ramlila Maidan from December 27,he would stage a hunger strike in jail. He thanked NAC member Aruna Roy for her criticism of the reported exclusion of lower bureaucracy from Lokpal.
